Favorite Locations For Your Session
The location you choose helps set the tone for your entire session. Whether you love the beach, open fields, mossy oak trees, or a more urban feel, our area has so many beautiful spots to photograph.
Over the years I’ve explored and photographed at many locations, and these are some of my favorites for creating timeless, natural images. Each one has its own unique feel, and I’m always happy to help you choose the perfect spot for your session.
Guana Beach- Ponte Vedra Beach
Guana Beach is one of my favorite hidden gems in Ponte Vedra Beach. It feels much more private and untouched than many of the other beaches in the area. The tall dunes and beautiful natural greenery create a really magical setting, and one of the things I love most is that there are no buildings in the background — just nature.
The sand here can be a bit more shelly than other local beaches, but the wild, natural feel makes this spot incredibly unique and beautiful in photos. Sunset is the best time to shoot here, when the light gets soft and golden over the dunes and water.
One important thing to know is that there are no bathrooms on site, just a portable potty located in the parking lot.
Boneyard Beach – Big Talbot Island
Big Talbot Island, often called Driftwood Beach or Boneyard Beach, is one of the most unique and breathtaking locations in our area. The shoreline is covered with large, weathered driftwood trees that create a dramatic and artistic backdrop you won’t find anywhere else nearby. It’s a beautiful location for all types of sessions and milestones — I’ve even photographed a newborn session here.
The light here is especially beautiful in the evening as the sun begins to set. For the best experience, it’s ideal to plan your session around a lower tide so more of the beach and driftwood are accessible.
It is a bit of a walk from the parking lot to the beach, but the scenery makes the little hike completely worth it.
Washington Oaks Gardens State Park – Palm Coast
Washington Oaks Gardens State Park in Palm Coast is a beautiful garden location filled with lush greenery and blooming flowers, especially in the springtime. The park has a romantic, storybook feel with winding paths, vibrant gardens, and the famous large oak tree that creates a stunning natural focal point for photos.
I especially love the soft light here in the morning, but because there is so much tree coverage throughout the gardens, there is a lot of flexibility when scheduling sessions at this location.
It’s a perfect spot for families, children, maternity sessions, and anyone who loves a garden setting full of color and greenery.
Hanna Park – Jacksonville
Hanna Park is one of my favorite locations because it offers so much variety in one session. We can capture several completely different looks all within the same area, which makes galleries from this location especially beautiful and diverse.
One of the most popular spots is the boardwalk, where the surrounding trees create a gorgeous natural frame and the sun filters through the greenery at sunset, giving the images a warm, glowing light.
At the end of the boardwalk are the beautiful natural dunes, which feel quiet and untouched with no buildings in the background — perfect for a soft, natural coastal look.
Then we can step right onto the beach, where the open shoreline and evening light create those classic, airy beach portraits. The variety here makes Hanna Park a wonderful choice for families, milestones, and extended family sessions.
Guana Trails – Ponte Vedra Beach
Guana Trails, located on the intracoastal side of A1A across from Guana Beach, offers a completely different look from the coastline while still feeling very natural and peaceful. This area is filled with beautiful winding trails, tall grasses, wooden boardwalks, and incredible oak trees that create a stunning canopy overhead.
One of my favorite features here is the large oak-lined trail, where the trees arch over the path creating a magical, shaded tunnel that photographs beautifully. There are also boardwalk areas through the marsh grasses that catch the light in such a warm and dreamy way, especially in the evening.
This location is perfect for families who love a lush, nature-filled setting with a quiet, organic feel. The best light here is typically later in the day toward sunset, when the sun filters softly through the trees and grasses.
Downtown St. Augustine
Downtown St. Augustine offers such a charming and timeless backdrop for photos. Areas like Charlotte Street and St. George Street are full of historic character with beautiful architecture, cobblestone streets, textured walls, and little hidden corners that photograph beautifully.
This location is perfect if you love a more urban, classic feel to your images while still keeping that romantic Old Florida charm. The mix of historic buildings, archways, and greenery gives us lots of variety in a small area.
Because downtown can get busy, I typically recommend scheduling sessions in the early morning when the light is beautiful and the streets are much quieter.
Rivertown Park – St. Johns
Rivertown Park is a beautiful location known for its stunning moss-covered oak trees that create a dramatic and timeless backdrop for photos. The tall trees and hanging moss give the entire area a soft, Southern feel that photographs beautifully in every season.
One of the things that makes this location so special is the way the light filters through the oak canopy. Sessions here are especially beautiful at sunrise or sunset, when the light is soft and golden and highlights the moss and greenery in such a magical way.
It’s a wonderful spot for families, maternity sessions, and milestone portraits for anyone who loves that classic Southern oak tree setting.
Fair Sessions – Clay County Fair
When the Clay County Fair comes to town, it creates such a fun and colorful setting for photos. The bright lights, vibrant food stands, and playful atmosphere make these sessions feel full of life and personality. From cotton candy and caramel apples to the glowing carnival lights, there are so many unique backdrops that make photos here feel extra special
These sessions are perfect for capturing playful moments with kids — enjoying treats, exploring the fair, and soaking in all the excitement. The colorful lights and energy of the fair create images that feel joyful, nostalgic, and full of childhood magic.
Since the fair is only in town for a short time each year, these sessions are very limited and scheduled around the dates of the Clay County Fair, typically in the evening when the lights start to glow for the most magical look.
Wildflower & Sunflower Fields
Wildflower and sunflower fields are some of the most magical locations for photos, creating a soft, colorful backdrop that feels straight out of a storybook. When the flowers are in full bloom, the fields are filled with beautiful natural color and texture that make sessions feel extra special and unique.
These locations are seasonal and only available for a short time each year, and they photograph best during sunset when the light is warm and glowing across the flowers.
Because the bloom time can vary from year to year, it’s best to reach out in advance if you’re interested in a wildflower or sunflower field session so we can plan and schedule your session while the fields are at their most beautiful.
Riverfront Park – Downtown Jacksonville
Riverfront Park in Downtown Jacksonville offers a beautiful city backdrop with a mix of skyline views, waterfront scenery, and artistic details. One of the highlights of this location is the Jacksonville skyline across the river, which looks especially beautiful as the sun begins to set.
The park also features a colorful mosaic wall that adds a fun and vibrant pop of texture to photos, along with the fountain area, which creates a classic and elegant setting for portraits.
Sunset is the best time to photograph here, when the light reflects off the water and the skyline begins to glow, creating a stunning urban backdrop for your session.
